With the association L'Envol

In Béthune, in northern France, the L’Envol Association supports young people in social reintegration through artistic projects developed within the community space it runs. As part of this program, I proposed a workshop “My Ideal Cabin,” inviting young participants to design, in the form of models, the cabin of their dreams for this shared place.

Using my design tools, the participants explored the notions of shelter, retreat, and conviviality. Each person imagined their cabin as a place of rest, a space for sharing and exchange, or even as a small projection room.

The aim of this workshop was to experiment together with constructing space based on their desires: learning to give shape to their ideas and to express themselves through three-dimensional form. Over the course of two hours, they built models, projecting themselves into a possible place
that reflected their own identities.

To conclude the workshop, I invited each participant to briefly their model. This encouraged them to put their needs and allowed the association to keep an audio archive of their ideas.
