Following the contested appointment of Mr. Fenzy as director of ENSCI – Les Ateliers, students and staff mobilized to oppose what they saw as an opaque selection process. It opened up a space for public discussions and collective exchanges, reaffirming the school’s commitment to transparency and shared governance.
Building on this momentum, a group of students, including Marie Jouble, Léo Dumont, Arnaud Magnin and myself, founded Precious Time. We collected data through anonymous surveys to create a map of issues raised. From this material, key themes emerged, revealing the need for dedicated collective period to transform these observations into concrete proposals.
Over two weeks, the entire school was invited to take part in the process. Students, designers, faculty, and administrators came together to generate possible courses of actions. Forty-five projects were developed. These proposals formed a fertile ground for rethinking the school’s modes of operation and governance.
At the same time, we designed a narrative platform retracing the stages of the movement: a graphic and temporal timeline highlighting key actors, events, and decisions.
